Brush fire Mine Hill Rd.
Friday April 20th just a few days after 5 inches of rain fell the Fire Department responded to the lower end of Mine Hill Road for the 1 acer brush fire that was spreading. Chief Nelson arrived and established command at the top of the road while Chiefs Maloney and Sheard were working there way up from the bottom and found the fire on the first ridge. As units arrived around 500 feet of one inch forestry hose was stretched up the hill and the fire was under control in a half hour. The New Jersey State Forest Fire Service assisted with the fire.
