Car Burns After Rt. 80 Crash
In the early morning hours of October 12th the Budd Lake Fire Company responded to Rt. 80 east for a car crash with fire. First arriving units found a man laying on the ground with a badly broken leg and a laceration to the face and in shock. The car he was driving was 100 yards up the interstate on the embankment fully involved in fire. Two fire department first responders attended to the man while Squad 56 arrived and started attacking the car fire. Do to heavy rain all helicopters were grounded so the man was transported to Morristown Memorial Hospital by the Flanders Fire and Rescue Squad and Medic 55. New Jersey State Police said the car ran into the rear of a tractor trailer and then veered off to the side of the road they are investigating the crash to determine why he hit the truck.
