Budd Lake Makes Quick Work on Kitchen Fire
Tuesday afternoon March 25 the Budd Lake pagers rang out for a report of a kitchen fire at the Eagle Rock Village Apartments. Chief Maloney arrived and found a fire in the kitchen that started to take the cabinets and called for a second alarm that called in Flanders Fire, one engine from Schooleys Mt.and a FAST assignment from Netcong Fire. Engine 53 stretched a one and three quarter inch hand line in and made a quick knock down of the fire. Ladder 58 set up a fan and vented the apartment and checked the other apartments for extension. There were no injuries and the fire is under investigation by the Mt. Olive Police and the Fire Marshals Office, all companies returned to service within one hour.
