Budd Lake Firefighters Extinguish Chimney Fire
Saturday afternoon March 1st firefighters were dispatched to a report of heavy smoke coming from a chimney on the corner of Rt. 46 and Spring Street. Chief 50 arrived and had a one and a half story wood frame dwelling with heavy smoke coming from the chimney and advised engine 53 to investigate a possible fire in the chimney. Crews checked the wood burning furnace and laddered the roof to check the chimney, after finding a clog in the chimney a chain was roped and water was put down the flue pipe and the fire was extinguished. There were no injuries reported and the chimney was declared not usable
