Chief's Page

I’d like to welcome you to the Budd Lake Fire Department’s website.

My name is Kevin Maloney I have been a firefighter for the last 18 years here in Budd Lake. I have held many ranks in the department from Lieutenant to Captain and Assistant Chief to Chief of the Department.

Our website offers some valuable information about our organization of dedicated and brave firefighters. You can see a sampling of the over 500 incidents we respond to by going to the photo page. There are some new additions like the Videos on the front page, photos of the ever popular Bingo and check out the response list.

The Fire Department is often the organization that is called when you don’t know who to call! Responding to calls for broken pipes, “water in the basement” pump-outs, unusual odors and lost individuals as well as fires and false alarms are all “normal” for us. If you think you need the Fire Department, then you probably do! Don’t hesitate to call 9-1-1. And please plan to stop by in October for our annual Fire Prevention Open House that is always filled with displays and helpful information on fire and life safety.

I’m very proud of our achievements this past year the purchase of some new high tec equipment and coming in mid 2009 the replacement of our oldest engine that has served Mt. Olive Township for over 25 years.

I would also encourage those of you who are looking to enrich your life to call me or stop by any Tuesday night to learn more. The department also has a Junior Firefighter program that kids 16 years of age can start learning and training to be firefighters.

We are always looking for help!

Thank You,

Kevin J. Maloney
