Monday afternoon October 5th rescue units from Budd Lake and Netcong were dispatched to Rt. 80 East at MM 26.2 for the crash with entrapment. Units from Roxbury Police and NJ State Police arrived and stated medical treatment on a female that was ejected from a SUV, Hackettstown EMS arrived and took over patient care as Squad 56 and Rescue 77 started working to extricate a second patient who was trapped in the driver’s seat of the overturned SUV. Netcong Fire assisted with the removal of both patients and also with cleanup and scene safety. The female was transported by air to Morristown in critical condition the Male was transported to Morristown by ambulance. The highway was closed and then down to two lanes for most of the day while State Police investigated the crash.
