Entrapment on Rt. 46 in Budd Lake

October 23rd  at approximately 10pm the Budd Lake Fire Department Co.#1 and Budd Lake First Aid and Rescue Squad – Station 27 was dispatched to the intersection of Route 46 and Mount Olive Road for the car verse pole. Upon the arrival of first arriving units it was confirmed to be one patient entrapped with a Haz-Mat situation. Rescue and 77 and Squad 56 worked to remove the driver of the vehicle. The crew of Tactical Support 55 worked to contain a large oil spill and secure fuel containers that were carried in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The driver was extricated and flown to a nearby trauma center. All units were clear at 12 am and route 46 was reopened. Flanders Fire stud buy in station and responded to a medical call in Budd Lake’s district.
