Budd Lake Fire Sends R.I.C and Tender to Washington Twp.

Just before 3 in the afternoon calls came in to the Morris County Communications center for a report of a house fire at 7 Shenandoah Ct. in the Fairmont section of the township. The Fairmont Chief was the first to arrive and found the two story large home heavily involved in fire and requested a second alarm as well as a full Tender task force due to the lack of hydrants. First in crews had to go defensive from the start, the roof was heavily involved in fire and collapsed quickly so large hand lines and ladder pipes were deployed on the fire. Units coming in were hampered by heavy snow falling and a tight dead end street once units got set up and a good water supply was set up units operated into the night making sure all fire was out. There were no injuries at the scene and the fire is under investigation by Washington Township Police and Morris County Prosecutors Office. Fire and First Aid Squads that assisted at the scene were all Washington Twp. Fire companies, Budd Lake,  Flanders, Chester, Califon, Oldwick, County Tender task force, County Rehab bus and the County Mutual Coordinators.
