Train Starts Brush Fires in Mt. Olive

Monday March 30th late afternoon the fire department was dispatched to International Drive and Route 46 for a brush fire as companies started to respond a second call came in for a second brush fire behind the Village Green apartment complex Engine 59 and Chief 50 responded to the Rt. 46 call and worked that fire on the tracks and in the thick brush. Squad 56 and Chief 52 responded to the Village Green call and had a 100 x100 foot fire next to the tracks crew used bladder bags and stretched long hose lays to extinguish the fire both fires were around a 1,000 feet apart. Netcong and Schoolyes Mt. fire companies assisted along with NJ Forrest Fire Service and NJ Transit Police.
