Budd Lake Assists Hackettstown Fire

Tuesday afternoon February 9th Hackettstown Fire Company was dispatched to Hackettstown Senior Housing at 681 Willow Grove St. for a fire alarm police and first arriving units saw smoke coming from the top floor and requested a full box alarm be struck bringing Hackettstown Rescue Squad, Budd Lake Fire Department, Tri County Fire, Independence Fire and Washington Borough Fire to the scene as the first due engine and truck company took high rise packs to the third floor and stretched lines on a kitchen fire in one appurtenant as other police Fire and EMS personal removed residences from the complex. The fire was brought under control with fifteen minutes 2 people were transported to Hackettstown Hospital next door and at least 8 others were treated for smoke inhalation. The apartment sustained fire and water damage with some nearby apartment also having water and smoke damage as well. Other units at the scene were Mansfield Rescue Squad, Independence Rescue Squad, Independence police, Oxford Rescue Squad, Washington Twp. Rescue Squad, Allamuchy-Green Rescue Squad and the Long Valley Rescue Squad. The fire is under investigation by Warren County Sheriff’s Department, Warren County Fire Marshal and the Mount Olive Fire Marshal.
