Quick Knock on Budd Lake Apartment Fire

A quiet Sunday December 11th got busy when a maintenance worker for the Eagle Rock Village Apartment complex called the police station and said they responded to a fire alarm and when they opened the apartment they saw smoke. The dispatcher alerted Budd Lake Fire and Car 51 arrived quickly and reported a fire in the living room and requested a second alarm box. Car 50 and 52 along with Engine 53 and Ladder 58 arrived and one line was stretched up to the 2nd floor apartment and the fire was quickly put out causing some fire and smoke damage. Tower 96 assisted Ladder 58 with ventilation all other fire units were returned. No one was home at the time of the fire and it is under investigation by the Mt. Olive Police and the Fire Marshal’s office.
