Law Offices Damaged by Fire in Mount Olive

2/3/17 Mount Olive fire units were dispatched at approx. 12:15 am for reported smoke from a building on Park Place in the Flanders section of the township. Upon arrival of patrol they reported heavy smoke from the attic. Shortly after Flanders Car 90 arrived and reported heavy fire from the first and second floor and requested a second alarm. Engine 95 arrived and stretched an inch and three quarter line into the first floor but were soon forced out do to a floor collapse on the first and second floors crews went to a defensive attack with Budd Lake’s Squad 56 set up on the bravo side and several hand lines were put in place along with a tower ladder and a deck gun. The building was a balloon frame old building. Crews went back in and were able to get the fire under control within an hour, one firefighter was taken to the hospital with a shoulder injurie. Units remained on scene until approx. 05:00 am Chester, Netcong and Hackettstown Fire Companies were on scene to assist with other companies covering the stations. The fire is under investigation by the Mount Olive Fire Marshal's office and the Mt. Olive Police.
