During a heavy rain storm Mount Olive Firefighters were dispatched to Route 80 east at mile marker 22.4 for a report of 2 motor vehicle crashes. Car 90, 50 and 51 arrived and found 2 cars crashed at one location and a tractor trailer and a car a quarter mile down the highway. Rescue 97 took the first crash and had to extricate 2 people from the first crash while Squad 56 and Car 51 took the second crash. Ambulances from Atlantic Health System, Flanders Fire and Allamunchy Green treated 10 people from both crashes and transported 9 people to area hospital’s. The State Police reopened the highway within an hour.
