Firefighters Tackle Brush on Rt. 206

Recently as crews were working, a Haz Mat incident across town around 10:30 am a call came in for a large brush fire behind a house on Rt. 206 with most resources operating at the Haz Mat Car 51 responded from the call to the brush fire and requested Chester Fire for 1 engine. Flanders Car 90 arrived and reported a 100 x 100 brush fire going good a small crew from Flanders and Budd Lake responded with Brush 98 who working with NJ forest Fire stretched lines on the fire and Engine 59 laid 400 feet of 5 inch line from the bottom of the driveway and supplied water for the fire. The Forest Fire Service called for a helicopter drop on the back end of the fire. The fire was brought under control within an hour and a half with no injuries the fire covered an acre and a half. Atlantic and Budd Lake EMS assisted the Morris County Rehab bus on scene. Netcong and Hackettstown Fire stood by at both firehouses.
