House Fire on Old Waterloo Rd.

Shortly after dinner on News Years Day calls starting coming in from 911 reporting a fire at the end of the street. Units were out on a call and returning to quarters when the call came out Engine 59 and Car 51 were only a mile away and arrived within minutes to find a one story wood frame with fire coming out the front of the house. Engine 53 was next in and assisted with water supply and extinguishing the fire. Car 50 had command and Car 52 was the water officer. Other Mutual Aid was called for and the fire was brought under control within an hour. One Firefighter was transported to the hospital for burns to the leg. There was no one home at the time of the fire. The Mount Olive Police and the Fire Official’s are currently investigating the fire.
