Budd Lake Assists Independence

At 7:52 am on Thursday the 31 of January Ladder 58 and Chief 2 responded as a Rapid Intervention Crew and assisted with overhaul they returned to service 4 hours later and while returning to the station they also responded to a gas leak in Sutton Plaza and a motor vehicle crash on Flanders Rd. Crews finial returned home around 1 pm.  
  
Thursday 1/31/19 around 7:45 am, Warren County Communications Center started receiving calls for a garage on fire on Canal Lane as first responders arrived the garage was well involved and catching the house on fire. Hackettstown Fire was first due and laid a supply line from RT. 46 down the street closing the roadway and putting a line in operation quickly darkening down the garage but the fire had quickly extended to the house. A second Hackettstown Engine and Crews from Independence Fire started to pull backup lines and tried to enter the house but were backed out do to a roof collapse. Crews went exterior for a short time and then reentered the house and continued to hit hot sports the fire was under control within 2 hours. There were no injuries and the fire is under investigation by the Warren County Fire Marshal’s Office and Independence Police. Mutual Aid from warren and Morris Counties were also on scene to assist.
