Mt. Olive Fire Responds To A Chicken Coop Fire

Mt. Olive Fire was dispatched to River Rd. in the Flanders Section for the report of a barn fire units arrived to find a 20 x 40 chicken coop well involved in fire. Engine 53 and Brush 98 were the only two pieces that could make it up the narrow and step driveway. The fire was knocked down within an hour. There was some deep seated fire. Budd Lake Participates In Bryam Twp. Ice Rescue Drill

Byram Twp N.J. Sussex County: It almost seemed warm as temperature’s hit the high teens Sunday Morning after a long cold week. The drill was held at Panther Lake just off Rt # 206. Planned as a rolling response drill companies rolled in as dispatched to evaluate response time. Firefighters from Netcong Fire Dept volunteered to suit up and play victims for the drill. Ice ranged from 6-8 inches around the lake. Ice Rescue Teams from Stanhope,Budd Lake, Jefferson along with their Ice Dive Team. Lakeland and Jefferson First Aid squads also assisted. CUB SCOUTS LEARN ICE SAFETY AT BUDD LAKE

Budd Lake N.J.. Morris County: After the tragedy earlier this month in Budd Lake, Cub Scout Pack 249 requested an ice safety class. Firefighters and First Aiders from Budd Lake put on the safety class. Over 75 scouts and parents attended a video was taken of the training and will be posted on the Township Web Page.

Budd Lake Assists Flanders In Apartment Fire

In the early morning hours of February 18th the Flanders Fire Co. was dispatched to Main Street for a reported apartment fire with the firehouse just down the street first arriving units were on scene in minutes and confirmed a working fire and entrapment. Chief Zeller requested the Budd Lake Fire Co. and a second alarm as firefighters from Engine 95 stretched a line in the front door of the apartment and started to knock down the fire and search for victims. During the search a young girl was found in a bedroom and removed to waiting EMS personal who then performed CPR on the girl and revived here and then transported her to a med-vac helicopter and flowed to a burn center. Budd Lake firefighters arrived and started searches of the second floor and then assisted Flanders firefighters on the first floor where two more victims were found in a back bathroom and removed out a window but sadly were pronounced at the scene. Firefighters remained on the scene well into the afternoon as the fire was investigated by the Mt. Olive Police, Fire Marshal’s Office and the County Prosecutors Office. The Netcong, Hackettstown and Chester Fire Companies were on scene as well as other County companies for station coverage. BUDD LAKE DOUBLE PIN DOUBLE FLY

Budd Lake N.J. Morris County: Just as afternoon rush hour started to begin a two car MVA on the corner of Rt # 46 and Wolfe Rd would halt traffic for hours and sent two drivers to the hospital. Both drivers were pinned the driver of the car was heavily entrapped and took multiple set of tools to free the driver. Both drivers were flown to nearby Trauma Centers. The Highway was closed for investigation. Budd Lake First Aid, Flanders Fire and Hackettstown Hospital EMS assisted.
