Overturned Car In Cemetery

Firefighters were called to an unusual crash at the Stanhope Union Cemetery on love ln. a car driving around some parked cars from a funerial service lost control and hit a tree and rolled over on its roof. Utility 54 and Rescue 97 assisted the EMS with getting the women out she had minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Crews stood by as the tow company removed the car.  

Mount Olive Hires New Fire Inspector

The Budd Lake Fire Department would like to congratulate firefighter  A.J. Herring on becoming  the third Mt. Olive Twp. Full time Fire Marshal (FM-6). AJ is a member of the department and last year served as 2nd lt. he also was a firefighter in Boonton and Montville NJ. Good Luck in the next chapter.   


Rt. 80 Crash Hurts 2

Friday morning on interstate 80. BLFD was dispatched to route 80 for an MVA with two injuries at exit 26. Rescue 55 assisted with a block on the shoulder and also removed sections of guard rail so the towing company could remove the vehicle. Luckily only minor injuries were found and all units cleared within an hour.

One Room Off In Flanders

Just after midnight on presidents day Mount Olive Fire units were called to Bartley Rd. in the Flanders section for a report of a house fire. Police arrived and reported fire out 2 windows on the second floor. Car 91 arrived and requested a second alarm bringing Netcong, Chester and Hackettstown fire companies to the scene. Flanders Engine 95 took the driveway as Budd Lakes Engine 59 took water supply crews stretched a line to the second floor and quickly attacked the fire. Engine 59’s crew went to the roof and opened up the roof. The fire was knocked down within 5 min. crews then started overhaul; and the Mount Olive Fire Marshal’s office conducted an investigation of the fire.  There was no injuries and crew returned to service after abought 3 hours.
