Some Recent Accident’s Responders Handled

Within the last 2-months Mount Olive First Responders responded to several crashes in town. The Fire Companies used jaws on some and others were just simple cleanup’s there were no life threating injuries at these crashes.  

Budd Lake Assist Flanders At Transformer Fire

Recently Mount Olive Fire responded to Oakwood Village for a report of a Transformer Fire Car 50, 51 and 52 arrived and found an underground transformer on fire Engine 95 arrived first and stood by waiting for the power company to shut down power in the area. 60 plus building were affected by the fire JCP&L crews arrived and the fire was put out power remained out for several hours. Rescue 97 and Engine 59 were also on scene as well assisting the power company with accessing other power boxes.     

Budd Lake Takes Part In Training Drill

Recently members went to Schooleys Mt. Fire Department to train on forcible entry training with their door prop. Later in the month we went to the Allamunchy Fire Department and used their mass confidence course set up in the basement of there fire house. Crews went over different tactics for rescuing down firefighters the junior firefighters went through as well.      

Budd Lake Assists Stanhope Fire

**Mutual aid structure fire**

4/6/18 At 03:50 BLFD was dispatched mutual aid for one engine into Stanhope for a fully involved house fire. Engine 59 set up draft site at Lake Musconetcong and supplied water to Byram Engine 1. Once hydrant water pressure was boosted the secondary water source was broken down.

BLFD then assisted with manpower helping place hazmat booms along the shore of the lake and then assisted with overhaul. Units were back in quarters at 08:45.

No injuries were reported and all occupants made it out of the house safely.
