Two Extricated In Crash On Rt.46 In Budd Lake

Saturday afternoon May 7th Budd Lake Fire and Rescue responded to Rt. 46 west across from # 425 for a two-car crash with injuries. Units arrived and started patient care and soon found that the passenger in the front seat had a broken femur and required Squad 56 to use the jaws of life to free the man from the car. EMS had two other victims to attend to as well so Flanders Rescue was dispatched to assist. Two victims were transported by Budd Lake & Flanders EMS along with St. Clair’s Medic 517 to Morristown Hospital and the third by Budd Lake was transported to Hackettstown Hospital. Rt. 46 was closed for abought an hour. 

Budd Lake Handles Brush Fire

Sunday afternoon May 1st Budd Lake Firefighters were dispatched to the area of 100 Crease Rd. for the brush fire units found a 100 by 300 foot area of brush burning. Engines 53 and 59 stretched 500 feet of 1-inch hose into the wooded area along with bladder bags, rakes and brooms and surrounded fire with a fire line and had the fire knocked down within fifteen minutes. The NJ Forest Fire Services also responded and assisted in mop up of the fire.

 

Small Brush Fire Knocked In Budd Lake

Friday May 6th in the late afternoon at the end of Hunter Drive firefighters responded to a brush fire that was contained to a small area Engine 53 and 59 used a 1-inch line to wet down the area and a chain saw was used take a burned tree down. Fire units cleared with in a half hour.

Smoking Trailer Extinguished In Flanders

On Wednesday May 4th the morning started with a dispatch for Flanders Fire to respond to the transfer station for a trailer smoking. When units arrived they had a trailer full of household garbage that was smoking, Tower 96 arrived and stretched a 5” supply line from a hydrant and stretched an inch and three quarter line as a loader started to pull out the garbage. Budd Lake’s Engine 59 arrived and assisted wetting down the trash. All companies were cleared with in a half hour.
