Truck Fire In Budd Lake

Just before mid-night on Mother’s Day a call came in from a truck driver pulling into a parking lot behind a business on Love Lane stating a truck was on fire in a fenced in area. Car 50 and 51 arrived and found a tractor of a car carrier on fire E-59 came in and stretched their bumper line and starting knocking down the fire while E-53 provided a supply to 59. The fire was knocked down within fifteen minutes. Flanders Fire and Budd Lake FA stood by and were released after the fire was knocked down. The Morris County Haz-Mat Team was called to the scene due to a large diesel fuel leak from the fire. There were no injuries and the Mount Olive Police and Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire.      

2 Brush Fires On Rt. 46

Recently the department was dispatched to the area of the Subaru Dealer for a report of 2 brush fires, Car 50 arrived and reported two separate fires. Engine 53 took the first one 50’ by 100’ and used a 1 inch line on the fire. The second fire was handled by Engine 59 that fire was 20’ x 20’ they used a 1 inch line as well all units cleared within a half hour.
