Budd Lake Assist Flanders With Extrication On Rt. 206

On Monday Memorial Day around 3:00 pm just as the temperature hit around 90 degrees the Flanders Fire and Rescue were dispatched to Rt. 206 in front of the golf zone for the head on crash. Chief 90 arrived and found two cars with double entrapment and requested Squad Co. 56 from the Budd Lake Fire Department to assist with the extrication. Flanders Rescue 97 started on the car still in the roadway with one person trapped and hade to remove the roof from that car to free the person just as Budd Lake was also starting to do the same on a car that was on the grass with one person trapped in that car. Atlantic and Flanders EMS transported both people to a nearby landing zone for transport by NJ State Police Helicopter to a local trauma center. The highway was shutdown for several hours while Mt. Olive Police and The Morris County Accident Investigation Team conducted the crash investigation.

Budd Lake Firefighters Handle Mulch Fire In Eagle Rock

Tuesday June 8th firefighters responded to Eagle Rock building 37 for the report of a mulch fire upon arrival the mulch and a bush were on fire and the heat started to melt the blinds of the basement apartment through an open window. The crew from engine 53 made a quick knock down of the fire. There was minor damage to the grounds and apartment.

Robbery Leads To Budd Lake Crash

Tuesday night June 15th a van involved in a robbery in Netcong crashed into a large sign in front of the Village Green Shopping Center in Budd Lake. The driver was taken to a local hospital by ems and Mt. Olive Police, Squad 56 remained on the scene while the van was pulled out of the sign, the sign will have to be replaced.

Three Pined On Rt. 206 In Flanders

Tuesday night June 15th Flanders and Budd Lake Fire and Rescue Companies responded to Rt. 206 and Laurel Dr. for the 4-car crash with three separate people trapped. Rescue 97, 77 and Squad Co. 56 worked their Jaws to remove the victims 2 were transported by ground to area hospitals and North Star flew one to Morristown. The crash is under investigation by Mt. Olive Police and the State and County Police.  

Flanders Handles Two Cars On Fire In Wal-Mart

Thursday June 24th late afternoon Flanders and Budd Lake firefighters were called to the Wal-Mart parking lot for a car fire. Upon arrival units found two SUV’ S on fire next to each other engine 95 was first to arrive and stretched a one and three quarter hand line on the fire and had it knocked down in minutes. There were no injuries at the scene.
