Budd Lake Car Fire AM Traffic Delays

Around 8 am on June 6th Budd Lake Fire was dispatched to Rt. 46 in front of Johnson Dodge for a car fire. Car 51 and 50 arrived and reported a working car fire in the right lane of travel Engine 59 arrived and stretched there bumper line on the fire and had the flames knocked down within 15 min. There were no injuries at the scene and traffic was backed up for a mile in each direction units went back in service in 45 min. and the road was fully open.

Rollover On Rt. 46 During Am Rush

Squad 56 and car 50, 51 & 52 responded to Rt. 46 east at Mt. Olive rd. for the rolled over car. The car traveling east lost control and flipped over taking out an electric pole and hitting a house. The driver was taken to the local hospital with minor injuries the house was deemed safe by the building department. Rt. 46 was only one lane each way for most of the day as utility crews repaired the pole.

During some recent high winds the fire company was called to Rt. 46 by the State Road Garage for a tree down Squad 56 and Car 50 responded and used chain saws to remove the tree and had traffic flowing within fifteen minutes.

Squad 56 Cleans Up Crash Rt. 46

Squad 56 and Car 50 and 51 responded to 46 east by the lake for a  2 car crash. One person was injured and taken to the hospital by the first aid squad while the fire company cleaned the highway. The roadway was reopened within a half hour.  

Budd Lake Firefighters Train On Roof Prop

Budd Lake Firefighters recently drilled with FF 1 Safety Services roof prop at the firehouse. The firefighters took turns learning and practicing on ground ladders and then the ladder truck cutting vent holes and pushing through the celling to get supper heated gases out to make inside work less stressful. Firefighters cut 4 x 4 holes and practiced starting and working saws and long hooks. A special thanks to Lowes of Mt. Olive for donating the wood needed to do the drill.   

Budd Lake & Flanders Assist In Mud Run

Both fire companies assisted the town in preparing before and during the event with filling the mud pits and keep the mud muddy during the event. While the First Aid Squads keep everyone safe fun was had by all and even some of our own had a soapy time.

Mt. Olive Extinguishes Van Fire In Woods

Budd Lake and Flanders Firefighters were recently dispatched to the parking lot of the Village Green Apartment complex behind building 36 for a van fire, the water department was in the area and reported to police of a van that was in the wood and fully involved in fire. Car 50 and Engine 53 arrived and found the van was abought 10 feet into the woods and fully involved as well as some trees and brush. Engine 53 stretched a hand line on the fire as brush 98 arrived and pulled a real line and assisted with putting out the brush. All fire was out within fifteen minutes and units remained on scene while the tow company removed the van, there were no injuries and the fire is under investigation by the Mt. Olive Police and the Fire Marshal’s office. Atlantic EMS assisted on scene as well.
