Entrapment On Rt. 46 In Budd Lake

October 23rd  at approximately 10pm the Budd Lake Fire Department Co.#1 and Budd Lake First Aid and Rescue Squad - Station 27 was dispatched to the intersection of Route 46 and Mount Olive Road for the car verse pole. Upon the arrival of first arriving units it was confirmed to be one patient entrapped with a Haz-Mat situation. Rescue and 77 and Squad 56 worked to remove the driver of the vehicle. The crew of Tactical Support 55 worked to contain a large oil spill and secure fuel containers that were carried in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The driver was extricated and flown to a nearby trauma center. All units were clear at 12 am and route 46 was reopened. Flanders Fire stud buy in station and responded to a medical call in Budd Lake’s district.

Lawn Mower Fire On Birchwood Dr.

Sunday October 19th Squad 56 and Cars 51 & 52 responded to Birchwood Drive for a lawn mower on fire units arrived and found a push mower on fire in the back yard crews quickly extinguished the fire. The homeowner was filling the hot mower when it started on fire there were no injuries and units quickly returned.

Budd Lake Fire Assists Flanders At Chimney Fire

Monday night Flanders and Budd Lake Fire Companies were dispatched to Main Street in Flanders for a report of a chimney on fire. Units arrived and had fire showing from the top of the chimney Engine 95 and 59 arrived and sent crews inside to check for any fire inside the home as other crews went to the roof and started to pull the siding and wood from the burning chimney and knock down the fire. There was no extension to the home all fire was contained to the top of the chimney there were no injuries on the scene and crews left within an hour.
