3 Sent To Hospital After Rt. 46 Crash

Budd Lake Fire and Rescue were dispatched to Rt. 46 and Wolf Rd. on Sunday October 12th for the two car head on crash with injuries. Crews arrived and had two cars in the roadway that had hit head on with 4 people injured Squad 56 secured the cars as Budd Lake First Aid and Flanders First Aid along with a special call for Long Valley First Aid worked to get all victim’s to area hospitals. The highway was fully opened within an hour.

Firefighters Respond To A Tree Fire

Monday October 13th firefighters were dispatched to Lake Shore Drive in Budd Lake for a report of a house fire as units arrived they found a tree that had fell intothe lake and fisherman had started a fire near the tree trunk setting it on fire. People from across the lake saw smoke and thought it was a house fire. Engine 59 and Engine 53 extinguished the fire and had to cut sum of the tree to get the fire completely out. Crews cleared up with in an hour.

Car Fire Training At Warren County

Tuesday night firefighters conducted their annual car fire drill at the Warren County Fire Academy. The firefighters took turns putting out car fires and honing their skills on hose advancement and opening hoods with K-12 saws and assorted tools.Two car were donated to the department for the drill and each car was burned twice so all firefighters had the chance to get in on the action. The department responds to at least a half a dozen car fire a year on Rt. 80 as well as Rt. 46 in theredistrict.

Firefighter’s Respond To Mt. Olive Rd. For Garbage Truck Fire

October 23rd Budd Lake Firefighters responded to the intersection of Mt. Olive Rd. and Rt. 46 for a report of a garbage truck fire upon arrival the truck driver pulled a mattress that was burning on top of the truck off onto the ground. Engine 53 arrived and quickly extinguished the mattress and checked the truck for extension. There was no damage to the truck and no injuries were reported. 

Budd Lake Fire Tends Fire At The Monster Mash 3K Dash

Saturday October 25th Firefighters assisted the recreation department with starting and tending a large camp fire to keep runners of the Monster Mash Dash warm. The crowd was large around 400 people gathered mostly in Halloween costumes to run or walk the 1.86 mile course and return for treats and gather around the fire. After the fun was over the fire department extinguished the fire a fun time was had by all.
