Budd Lake Responders Use Jaws At Crash On Rt. 46

As Budd Lake Firefighters prepared for a detail Friday morning they were called to an MVA just east of their firehouse on Rt # 46. On arrival there was a State Police car off the roadway in the woods, a passenger car and mason dump in the roadway with the driver of the passenger car heavily entrapped. The Trooper was pulled from the car which was smoking by State workers passing the scene. Firefighters worked for 45 minutes to free the driver which was flown by Air One to Morristown.

Morris County Region 4 Mutual Aide Group Holds Ice Rescue Class

Saturday and Sunday December 3rd and 4th were not your typical winter days with tempters in the low to mid 50’s it was hard to think a bought ice rescue but firefighters still trained for the ice season. Departments from Florham Park, Budd Lake, Randolph, Schooleys Mountain, Wharton, Boonton Township, Boonton and Morristown Fire Departments went through a two day intense class on using through bags and ice sleds as well as other skills needed to rescue people that may fall through the ice, the class was taught by Lifeguard Systems, Inc. The 32 firefighters put on ice rescue suits and did all the training in the water because the lake was not frozen but it still proved to be a valuable drill and prepared all for the upcoming winter season. Budd Lake Gets In The Christmas Spirit In Netcong

As the Holidays approached the Netcong Recreation held its first Christmas parade in down town Netcong. With floats and a half a dozen fire companies with trucks lit up with lights they paraded through town and ended next to the fire house for the tree lighting. A good time was had by all and lets hope it continues next year.  

Car Into A Building On Sandshore Rd.

Budd Lake Fire and First Aid responded to a report of car into a vacant building on the corner of Sandshore Road and Netcong Road. The vacant bar is on the Lake it appears the car avoided going into the lake by hitting the building. The passenger was injured and the driver bailed out and was later caught by Mt. Olive Police. The passenger was transported to Morristown Medical Center.


Two Trapped On Rt. 46 In Budd Lake

Wednesday December 7th just after dinner Budd Lake Fire and Rescue were dispatched to Rt. 46 @ Plaza 141 for a car on its side and people trapped. Upon arrival of the first units a car was on its side and two people were trapped in the car Squad 56 and Rescue 77 worked to free the people as Hackettstown Regional and Budd Lake First Aide EMS was ready to transport. All patients were removed and a total of 3 people were transported to the nearest hospital with minor injuries.     


Budd Lake And Washington Twp. Team Up For Wires And Brush

Friday morning December 16th around 8 am both departments were dispatched to Drakestown Rd. behind Paragon Village for wires down and on fire. Chief Evans arrived and found that high winds had taken down a tree and two power poles and started a brush fire. Engine 3-2 and Squad 56 stood by until J.C.P. &L. shut down power and the they were able to extinguish the fire. The power, phone and cable companies remained on the scene to repair the damage.   

Santa Comes To Budd Lake By Fire Truck

Christmas Eve Santa found time to stop by and make sure who was naughty and nice and check his list. Engine 59 and Squad 56 drove Santa around town and I am sure everyone was on the nice list.
