Budd Lake Assist Washington Twp. Fire

Budd Lakes Ladder 58 was assigned the Rapid Intervention Crew and remained on scene till around 2”30 am.



At 10:20 PM on Monday night (January 21) Fairmount Fire Company, Long Valley Fire Company and Schooleys Mt. Fire Company were alerted for a Structure Fire on Pickle Rd in Washington Twp. First arriving units found the house well involved in fire with the barn 20 feet from the house starting to burn command requested a second alarm and crews went to work with deck guns and master streams as mutual aid companies started to arrive, a crew went into the barn an extinguished the fire, and held it in check as the house was being brought under control. Companies remained on scene well into the morning hitting hot spots there was (1) fatality at the scene in which the Washington Twp. Police, Morris County Sheriff’s Office and Morris County Prosecutors Office are all investigating. Mutual Aid Fire Companies were Chester Fire, Pottersville Fire, Califon Fire, Budd Lake Fire, Lebanon Twp. Fire and Oldwick Fire. The Long Valley First Aid Squad stood by the entire time for Rehab and Morris County OEM sent a warming bus for firefighters.
