Budd Lake Tackles Tax Payer on Rt. 46

Around 4:00 pm on Friday July 2nd the Budd Lake Fire Department responded to 151 Rt. 46 the Seven Eighty Six food store for the reported electrical fire. Car 50 arrived and reported a working fire in a two story tax payer with apartments above and requested a second alarm witch brought Flanders Fire, Schooly’s Mountain Fire and Netcong as the F.A.S.T. team. Engine 53 stretched an inch and three quarter line in on the fire as ladder 58 laddered the roof. Crews had the fire knocked down in 10 minutes as other crews checked the second floor for extinction. Crews remained on scene for an hour doing extensive overhaul, the fire is under investigation by the Mt. Olive Fire Marshal’s Office and the Mt. Olive Police Department. The Budd Lake First Aide and the Hackettstown Hospital EMS were also on the scene.
