Budd Lake Assists Hackettstown Fire

Thursday afternoon February 11th Hackettstown Fire Company was dispatched to 59 Scenic Court for a report of a fire in a house, Ladder 78-69 and the Chief arrived and had smoke coming from the B side of the structure on the first floor and basement area a full box alarm was dispatched that sent Hackettstown Rescue Squad, Budd Lake Fire Department, Tri County Fire Co., Independence Fire Department and Washington Borough Fire to the scene. Crews stretched two hand lines to the house and started to knock down the fire as other companies came into the scene searches were conducted on all floors and crews outside had to cut the siding and walls out to get to hidden pockets of fire. The damage was held to the living room and basement areas with smoke and water damage to other parts of the house. There were no injuries and the fire is under investigated by the Hackettstown Detective Bureau, Mt. Olive Fire Marshal and the Warren County Fire Marshal. Also on scene were Hackettstown Department of Public Works, Hackettstown Building Inspector, JCP&L and Elizabethtown Gas Co.
